Metropia
Someone Else is Listening to Your Thoughts
Metropia takes place in a not-so-distant but terrifying Europe of the future. The world is running out of oil and the underground train systems have been connected, creating a gigantic subway network beneath Europe. In a suburb of Stockholm, Roger (Vincent Gallo, Buffalo '66) tries to stay away from the underground because every time he enters, he hears a stranger's voice in his head. Is someone trying to control him? To help him escape the disturbing web of the Metro, he looks to the mysterious Nina (Juliette Lewis, Whip It) but the further they travel, the deeper he's involved in a dark conspiracy. This star-studded, "technically innovative" (The New York Times) animated sci-fi thriller also features Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood), Stellan Skarsgård (Mamma Mia!) and Udo Kier (Shadow of the Vampire).

I love dystopian films / dysto pics, but this one made little sense. This film employs the time honored dysto plot of "everyone is watching you". But the people doing the watching are people....and they each have one subject they follow. Wtf, no wonder the world economy has collapsed. Imagine a world of ten billion people where five billion are employed to watch the other five billion. I know it's just a film but I like a little bit of plausibility in my science fiction. Also, I never understood the purpose of all the "watching" except to provide dysto despots with amateur porn. This film wasnt very good.My wife fell asleep during this movie - easyHwolf
This movie sounds a lot more interesting than it is to watch. The animation is kind of cool, but the story is not engaging, plods along and ultimately puts you to sleep.
At the ending, one is left saying, "Oh, how nice, it's over." Don't waste your chance to zip something else altogether.Animation is wonderful - rudy123
Who is in control? Figure that out and you will better understand this futuristic (2024) movie. A slow moving, complicated picture. A subway system that is run by a group wishing to do much more then just be a great transportation system. Mind was not in control for this one.
