If you've seen the original, then curiousity alone is reason enough to zip this. It is the story of "The Grid" so many years later. After taking control of the company (From the end of the first movie) Flynn continues working on the grid. When his son, the protagonist of this one, is very young, Flynn disappears and the company is run by other execs.
Turns out Flynn is "Stuck in the grid", yeah, like anyone hadn't guessed... The kid grows into his teens and turns surly for lack of a father... Yeah, you've figured the movie out, now. He rides his father's old Ducati a lot, so of course he'll be good at lightcycles should he ever end up trapped in the... Oh wait, you'd already figured it out...
Oh. And his father, now the Old Man Flynn, is living with a young hottie at his secluded, well furnished, mountain peak... It's good to be God.A disappointment - mxg123
This movie has plenty of good graphics, as one would expect with today’s technology, and yes the music was good, but the story line sucked. Sorry to be blunt, but this matches the crappy screenplay (your messing up my zen, man). I just wish this sequel would of match better the story line of its predecessor.Ok sequel, a bit made for TV look - lookingjust
I'm a big Jeff Bridges fan, and remember the original TRON fondly. So it's a good comibination to get him back and do a sequel. All in all, this works pretty well. Bridges is his usual too too cool self. Olivia Wilde is wonderful eye candy, and they make sure she's always in something skin tight and show in the best way. The story is ok, must suspend belief big time of course but what do you expect. Nothing too radical or surprising really - a good, well made SciFi - a full 3 stars for sure and worth an evening rental.
