My Soul to Take
Only one has the power to save their souls.
In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer.
Adam "Bug" Heller (Max Thieriot) was supposed to die on the bloody night his father went insane. Unaware of his dad's terrifying crimes, he has been plagued by nightmares since he was a baby. But if Bug hopes to save his friends from the monster that's returned, he must face an evil that won't rest... until it finishes the job it began the day he was born.

I'm a big time horror fan and love all of Craven's work on various levels. This one just shows he's out of touch with his market. The narrative is bizarre in a bad way. I saw an early clip of the bridge scene at a convention and it was horrific, hair stood on end. It was scary. The current version is laughable...what a shame. Rest of the movie is just insane. It's like Heathers with cell phones but less fun. What a missed opportuninity. Not to spoil the fun but the killer looks like Rob Zombie on a meth binge.Great plot and concepts, but to much of it - eched
This film is full to the edge with twists and turns and smart ideas. The plot has a mythology all of its own and tries to make its own little world.
The problem is, there's simply to many good ideas, and often the plot rushes itself to cover them all. The opening for example could have and should have been made 40 min long to cover all that was on display. Instead, it's not given nearly enough time and feels forced and rushed.
I would still sugest highly seeing this cause this is really smart and creative, and has some pretty strong acting. Just keep in mind, in some parts you'll have a hard time keeping up with the rushed pace.
