The Mechanic
The most powerful criminals believe they're untouchable. They're dead wrong.
Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a 'mechanic' - an elite assassin with a unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets... and Bishop is the best in the business. But when his mentor and close friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered, Bishop is intent on exacting revenge. His mission grows complicated when Harry's son Steve (Ben Foster) approaches him with the same vengeful goal. But while in pursuit of their ultimate mark, deceptions threaten to surface and those hired to fix problems become problems themselves.

Good Action - imran1978
I give it an extra star for Jason Stratham, I have always found him to be a good actor, but I truly do wish he would take on more serious roles more often than the cookie cutter action hero he has become. If only he would do more roles like "Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels" and "The Bank Job". This film was a typical action thriller similar to many that have been done before, and similar to what Jason has done before. Average story, average acting. I would not cancel any plans for this, but a good watch when nothing else to do.Well done - FieroGT
this is a remake of a Charles Bronson film and is very well done. I was not sure if it would be as good as the original but Jason Statham is excellent here. The story sticks to the original plot description but takes its owm way and keeps you interested right to the end. Effects are well done and if you liked the first one you will also enjoy this movieIf you want gory violence... - Barb1
You came to the right place. An unusual twist on the lone hit man plot, the main character takes on the son of a dead colleague as an apprentice hit man as a way to make some sort of restitution. There is splattering blood and brain matter everywhere, but conveniently they're all bad guys so no-one has to feel bad about it. Jason Statham does his job well, as does Ben Foster as the deeply troubled estranged son of Donald Sutherland. Don't think too deeply about the plot or expect much from this movie, but it's ok for the genre.
