Creepy, but not in a good way - easypeasy
This movie is creepy but not in a good way. I found Jeffrey Dean's character creepy - but mostly kind of pathetic - so it wasn't scary creepy - just icky.
I can't stand Hilary Swank. I don't think I realized she was in this movie or I wouldn't have requested it. She's not a very good actress and I just don't see the allure of her at all.
If you're looking for a good thriller, this isn't it.

You’ve probably seen this plot before. I know I’ve seen it half a dozen times or more. Male character introduced as likeable is later revealed as an obsessed sociopath lurking in the walls of a female’s residence to spy on her through electrical outlets, heating vents and various other peep holes. Protagonist eventually figures out what’s going on and the plot concludes with the usual prolonged cat and mouse battle of wits, stamina, and physicality.
Usually when Hollywood subjects us to a new version of this schlock they at least insert some new element from pop culture of try to intrigue us with some fresh new twist. Can’t say this one does even as much as that. The Resident, starring Hilary Swank and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is uncreative and totally predictable. Even the cover art erases all doubt about who the demented antagonist may be. Only thought creators put into this was deciding on what antogonist should leave for protagonist to inflict her final blows. On this occasion, did they choose
a) a large knife from kitchen drawer?
c) a power tool carelessly left on floor?
b) a live electrical wire sloppily exposed?
d) a poorly installed support beam?Quite Suspenseful - sherbear77
I enjoyed this movie quite a bit as it was quite suspensful and intriguing, however, I do believe the final "chase" lasted quite long and drawn out. Also, I was surprised that the movie ended so ebruptly after the final scene in the house.
But overall, I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone wanting a creepy movie that will keep your on the edge of your seat.
