The Adjustment Bureau
Academy Award nominee Matt Damon (The Bourne trilogy) stars in this action thriller about a man who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him – and chooses to fight for his own destiny. Battling the powerful Adjustment Bureau across, under and through the streets of New York, he risks his destined greatness to be with the only woman he's ever loved (Emily Blunt, The Young Victoria, The Devil Wears Prada). Based on a story by the legendary Philip K. Dick (Total Recall, Minority Report and Blade Runner), The Adjustment Bureau is "entertaining and thought-provoking". — Katey Rich, Cinemablend.com

3.5 Stars; above average action, imaginative plot - lookingjust
I thought the plot showed some real imagination, not just your average thriller. It worked pretty well, requiring a complete suspension of disbelief of course and have to turn your absurdity alert alarm off, but if you can do that this is a pretty enjoyable romp. It helps to have Matt Damon in the lead as he seems to specialize in these "run and figure out what's going on" types of movies. Emily Blunt acts a bit of class as well and John Slattery is just plain perfect in his role. The ending is almost too too hokey mind you as others have pointed out, but don't let that spoil an otherwise pretty entertaining filmInteresting Premise - ho hum End - Mookie
I liked the premise of this movie and there are some suspenseful scenes early on that make this movie worthwhile to see but the last act of the film was very undramatic despite the best efforts of the director to try to make us feel some tension. I also felt it was a little lazy for the writers to have one of the "angels" help Matt out so much to get his goal and have the girl to ready to go along with it after everything she had been through. And really? Another romance movie where the guy busts in on a wedding day? That is so cliche they ought to outlaw it. Overall, I did enjoy the first two thirds enough to recommend this movie but it is a shame they dropped the ball on the ending.Could have been better. - Mano
I rented this movie b/c of Matt Damon+Obama! Why Obama?Because in one of the press galas, Obama used this movie to rib Matt Damon. Apparently Matt mentioned in an interview that he was disappointed with the President. "Well, Matt, I jsut saw The Adjusment Bureau" said Obama with a chukle!
The President was right then. This movie is a disappointment. Not that it is a bad movie. The fact that love is supreme is a good foundation for any movie. But somehow this comes across as part Matrix, part many other time travel/sci-fi movies. Philip Dick's short story is one thing but a full lenth feature is another.
Matt does his best. Music is okay. Cinematography is good.
Somehow we leave the movie with a sensation of being unfulfilled.
