Mars Needs Moms
From Disney and Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis (Best Director, Forrest Gump, 1994), comes the craziest adventure this side of the galaxy - Mars Needs Moms. Take out the trash, eat your broccoli - who needs moms, anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she's nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own young. In a race against time and oxygen, his quest to save her knows no bounds. And with some unexpected help, Milo just might find his way back to her - in more ways than one. It's a thrilling journey that's pure, out-of-this-world crazy fun.

Enjoyable even though there was nothing really new here. Safe for the whole family.
Nice to see a kids who want to help their mom's out of trouble without expecting big prizes.
There are no giant laughs or super excillerating moments, just a pleasant 90 minute movie. It's isn't terrible... - SStones
It takes a long time to get going. It is very predictable. It so closely follows the formula for disney movies that it seems from time that you've seen this movie before...
But on the flip-side, I remember getting a laugh or two out of it. Joan Cusack (As the mother) is asleep and not talking through much of the movie. Ummm. Okay, I am running out of good things to say about it, but it isn't terrible, Just simple.Poorly-rendered motion-capture is the least of this film's problems. - estefan
The world should be thankful that Disney shut down ImageMovers Digital, as we don't have to subject ourselves to their Uncanny Valley-laden films. From the get-go, Mars Needs Moms is uncomfortable to watch with its creepy-looking humans that just don't look right at all. However, when even the poorly rendered motion-capture is not the worst thing about this, then you know there's something wrong. Director/co-writer Simon Wells doesn't start the story too badly with what begins as a simple adventure that almost every child would dream of: going to Mars. Shame that Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius tackled the same story better, along with funnier and more endearing characters. Dan Fogler's Gribble is incredibly annoying right from his introduction and the Martians we meet on the way aren't much better, though they are better designed than the human characters. Milo is also a dull protagonist with little sympathy gained towards him. And when the film tries to push the emotional button, it does not feel earned at all, because the characters are so little developed. I wish I could say Mars Needs Moms didn't deserve its disastrous box-office fate, but yeah, it did.
