Paul
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite as sci-fi geeks taking a pilgrimage to America's UFO heartland. There they meet a smart-ass alien, Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen), who takes them on an insane road trip. As they struggle to return Paul home, the little green man might just take the outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.
From the director of Superbad, Greg Mottola, and with a stellar supporting cast including Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Joe Lo Truglio, Jane Lynch and Sigourney Weaver, Paul is a must-own comedy adventure not to be missed!

This movie is the modern day adult version of the ever popular ET only with alot of swearing that could be offensive but for some reason isn't - maybe because it is incorporated into the humor of the movie plot and characters in a light and comedic manner. Paul is cute and fun to watch so not the best movie but had some good laughs, a twist at the end and kept you hoping Paul would get home, just as ET did.Give this one a chance... - Cdnnutmeg
It was so much better than I thought it would be. I was surprised how many times I was laughing out loud. The cast works together so well. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are always great together but there were other pleasant surprises in the cast. Jason Bateman as Agent Zoil is perfectly humorless but completely funny and Seth Rogan as the voice of Paul is well written and well delivered, always important with a CGI character. Amusing cameos by Jane Lynch and Sigourney Weaver. You have to watch this movie more than once just to pick up all the sci-fi references. My favorite is the hoedown version of the Star Wars Cantina Band song.It wasn't the let-down I feared. - SStones
Of course I'm a Simon Pegg and Nick Frost fan, so I had looked forward to the movie enough that I could only expect to be let down, honestly. It is not as great as Hot Fuzz or Shaun Of The Dead, it really would be too much to expect. What it was, however, is a bloody great comedy. The plot is simple and easy to keep fast-paced. The homages to real sci-fi movies throught the story were beautiful (Note the actual tune of the music playing in Roy's Roadhouse when they go in). I found the movie absolutely enjoyable in all ways. Not perfect, but very, very fun and thouroughly enjoyable.
What really bothered me, in fact, was probably Zip.ca's problem, nothing to do with the movie itself. As a huge fan of these guys', I would have liked to watch the blooper reel and more of the "Additionals" that the DVD comes with, but on this "This DVD is intended for rental purposes only" copy, those extras just give you a statement saying that we renters are unworthy of seeing more than just the feature movie.
But still. It was a great movie.
