Arthur
Russell Brand reinvents the role of lovable billionaire Arthur Bach, an irresponsible charmer who has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and lifelong nanny Hobson (Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge: choosing between an arranged marriage to ambitious corporate exec Susan (Jennifer Garner) that will ensure his lavish lifestyle, or an uncertain future with the one thing money can't buy - Naomi (Greta Gerwig), his true love. With Naomi's inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and learn what it means to be a man in this reimagining of the beloved Oscar-winning romantic comedy Arthur.

Brand may not be the ideal leading man because he’s only tolerable in small doses. That being said, he's perfect for the disreputable drunk Arthur. There was a decent effort to weave a nice love story into the tale of a man whittling away his family fortune on booze and bedlam; leaving little hope for his family run mega-corporation. Signaling a new generation of actresses, for every bit that I didn't enjoy Garner's phony performance, I fell in love with Gerwig’s carefree portrayal of Arthur's true love and inspiration. There are also some pretty good supporting performances by Mirren and Nolte. Arthur is a tough character to find endearing and will divide the audience into those who only see his debilities and those who can see the size of his heart.Arthur - Jude
I really enjoyed this movie. It had a great cast who did an excellent job, and the story was fun, though the ending was inevitable, but that's okay. There were lots of laughs, and lots of warm moments. And yet a good story you could relax and enjoy. This is worth a rental.Different but Good - CynCanada
At first I was disappointed in this remake because I was comparing the lead actor to the incomparable Dudley Moore. Once I began to watch the movie without comparing to the original - I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Helen Mirren was excellent as usual. I would watch this again and enjoy it just as much.
