Hanna
An action-packed suspense-thriller starring Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Lovely Bones), Hanna is "an exuberant chase thriller that pulses with energy!" (Justin Chang, Variety)
Raised by her father (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA agent, in the wilds of Finland, Hanna's upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one. Sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe, eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence, in a movie critics are calling "exhilarating, audacious and boldly original!" (Karen Durbin, Elle)

Alot of potential but... - noamatancha
This movie had so much potential for a great movie. From the start, the actress playing Hanna does an excellent job. But, the movie lacks in the action department. It could've been almost as good as the Bourne movies. I felt that there was also alot of information missing from the story line. I finished watching the movie with alot of questions unanswered.Adapt or Die - CaptainRhodes
Hanna was alright. Didn't break any new ground but Cate Blanchett is always a pleasure to the eye. Already forgetting it.
USELESS FACTS:
Such was the physicality of Saoirse Ronan's role, her combat tactics called for 4-hour days of intense training under Dan Inosanto (a Bruce Lee protégé) over a two month period at his L.A. gym.
A former CIA agent was brought in to consult the character of Cate Blanchett.
Erik's arrival in Germany and fight in a subway station below the airport was done in a long take. It took less than ten attempts to get it right.
The song that Isaacs (Tom Hollander) whistles is "The Devil Is in the Details" by The Chemical Brothers.Bourne on crack. - cathyottawa
I agree with lise - this does indeed have a fantastic start, and a strong premise that could have evolved into a really cool film....but it didn't.
If you can totally shut your brain off for this one, it's not terrible. There's good action, and Saoirse Ronan is wonderful (and the only reason this gets three stars instead of two).
The problem is, this is just so ludicrous. I don't want to give things away, but there were huge plot holes, especially surrounding character's motivations. We don't get nearly enough of a back story to make much of anything going on make sense.
Then there's the portrayal of the CIA, which is almost as over the top as Cate Blanchett's character. Think Bourne Identity times ten.
Then there's Hanna's father - an ex CIA operative that speaks every language you can think of, can fight and defend himself against multiple attackers without breaking a sweat, has survival skills to rival Rambo - again, think Bourne times ten. So what becomes of his character, without spoiling things, left me scratching my head.
All I could think of at the end of this movie was, what wasted potential.........and Saoirse Ronan is fantastic!
