I had zipped this little gem as I had seen it in a review at teh Bytowne in Ottawa.
Again, this is a film about finding oneself again after a major tragedy and how two people learn to regain their spirits after a life-changing event. Both are marginalizedby the local society, yet tolerated, and both take a road trip which ends up healing both their wounds as well as affecting changes to those they meet on the road to New Orleans.
The reunion with the emain character's son is one fo the most poignat moments in the film. The role Nick Nolte as a pot-smikong former guitarist is quite funny.

This movie was a very pleasant surprise. My husband went to the barn to tend to the horses when I put the movie in because he did not think it sounded interesting. When he came back in and sat down - he was glued to the television the remainder of the movie and even started it over to catch what he missed. What an excellent story ... not one that is old and well-worn but quite fresh and inspiring. We highly recommend this.
