Attack the Block
Inner City vs Outer Space
From the producers of Shaun Of The Dead, Attack The Block is a fast, funny, frightening action adventure movie that pits a teen street gang against an invasion of savage alien monsters. It turns a London housing project into a sci-fi battleground, the low-income apartment complex into a fortress under siege. And it turns a crazy mix of tough street kids into a team of kick ass heroes. It's inner city versus outer space and it's going to explode.

not bad, not great - RV_BOLO
Hoping for something on a par with Sean of the Dead I rented this with modest expectations. It did not disappoint, but it wasn't great. The toughest part was deciperhing most of the local slang! The British accent is easy, but add local slang and a deliberate slur and often it was impossible to tell what the actors were saying. None the less some good acting and a fun little script bade for a not bad, not great flick.Them kids need a good 'ol fashioned spanking. - CaptainRhodes
Don't be a victim of the hype and you'll enjoy it. It was merely alright.
USELESS FACTS:
Writer/director Joe Cornish was inspired to make this film after actually being mugged in real-life one night (much in the same way Sam was as portrayed in the film). He noticed his five young assailants were as scared as he was, and started researching their lives.
Writer/director Joe Cornish grew up and lives in South London, where this film is set.
In this movie, Nick Frost still wears the long hair he grew for Paul.Aliens, London style - Doom
This film shares a great deal of Shaun of the Dead's irreverant English humour. What would happen if alien beasts crashed in the London projects? They'd get their butts kicked by the resident ruffians.
The fantastic elements of the story are rendered more believable ue to the convincing performances, enabled by Cornish's clever and honest script. The gang of kids you wind up rooting for aren't necessarily the good guys - they're just the less bad guys.
