Cowboys & Aliens
Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford star in this action-packed sci-fi western from the director of Iron Man (Jon Favreau) that critics call "wickedly original, unlike anything you've ever seen" (Jake Hamilton, Fox-TV Houston, TX). A stranger (Craig) stumbles into the desert town of Absolution with no memory of his past and a futuristic shackle around his wrist. With the help of mysterious beauty Ella (Olivia Wilde) and the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford), he finds himself leading an unlikely posse of cowboys, outlaws, and Apache warriors against a common enemy from beyond this world in an epic showdown for survival.

Here we have yet another genre mixing high concept movie. There are just too many storylines running at each other for it to make any sense. This type of fanboy pseudo-mythology is really getting tired now.
This reminds older movie fans of the old studio days when in a last grab at faded glory they would put popular characters such as the Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello and Hope & Crosby in the most ridiculous of pairings.
I guess times really don't change because they are still doing it today. Include this movie along with Freddy vs Jason and Alien vs Predator.a hot mess of cliches - Barb1
Well this incomprehensible patchwork of Western cliches and alien attack movie cliches is all about style, so much so that there was nothing left over to buy a quality writer, or a plot line. Daniel Craig gets the job done as a wild west outlaw joining the "good" side to save his woman; Harrison Ford also does a credible job as the rancher who comes across hard as nails and meaner than snake, but you come to learn is just a tough, proud warrior. You can see they are both having a lot of fun with this. But that's about as far as this silly mess of a movie can take it. Having guys shoot, spear, punch and blow up aliens does not make for entertainment all by itself.Good movie - noamatancha
At first, I wasn't sure about this movie. I was expecting a lot of special effects and action. When the movie started, I thought it was going to be a disapointment, but then, the aliens started attacking and the action kicked in. All actors are good in their own roles, especially Daniel Craig. I wish they had explained why the aliens were looking for gold. Was it for energy, money or what else? Overall good movie.
