Mr. Popper's Penguins
Chill out with the funniest family comedy of the year! Jim Carrey stars as Tom Popper, a successful businessman who's clueless when it comes to the really important things in life... until he inherits six "adorable" penguins, each with its own unique personality. Soon Tom's rambunctious roommates turn his swank New York apartment into a snowy winter wonderland - and the rest of his world upside-down.

Cute family movie, good for kids and penguin lovers - TheGame
This movie was cute on every level. Carrey was believable as a work obsessed control freak who rediscovers live through his family and the penguins. The penguins totally steal the show!!! They are so cute. I can see why kids love this movie as it is really animal-centered. Carrey has a lighter humor than usual here. I liked the movie overall but I did not like it as much as I thought I would. At times it is slow moving. The whole film gets a C plus. Worth a view, especially if you have kids.A Wonderful Family Movie - Mustang1
Those this movie isn't in the same ballfield as say, Gone With The Wind, it is a nice, cute, funny movie that the whole family can enjoy. Especially if you happen to love animals as I do. This movie isn't what I'd call hilarious, nor is it supposed to be a Pet Detective sequel, but it did make me chuckle in quite a few places and it's very touching. I think the underlying theme of the movie is don't take life for granted and figure out what's really important in life, before it's too late. That theme, mixed with the laughs is a must see. That rare thing: an un-funny Jim Carrey - estefan
I think Jim Carrey had his funny bone taken out, before shooting started, because he barely made me chuckle here. The screenplay doesn't really help matters either, as the material given to him is just lame all over. My biggest issue, aside from not being funny, is that it commits one of my most hated cliches: the workaholic father who the children hate, when he's doing nothing wrong. Clark Gregg's zookeeper is the villain of the story, but he's the only person thinking logically. An apartment duplex is no home for a penguin and yet the children thinks that giving them to professionals in a zoo is a crime against humanity and their father should be frowned upon for doing the right thing. So, not only is the film not funny, its intentions are completely and utterly warped to the extreme. I think we need Peter Weir, stat!
