When I was growing up my father used to watch this show all the time and it became a family tradition to watch this all the time and Richard Boone is a very good actor and the way he uses his skills to achieve the objective is also great always trying to avoid killing by working things out but willing to kill if he has to.have gun will travel season 1 disc 1 - tvfanatic
I first saw these when i was a youngster and was always a die hard fan and now that i see them again wow flood gates of memories, not high tech type western cinema but considering these shows were made back in 1950s awsome real nice nostalgic western, the era of the tv western has come and gone the closest we got recently was firefly (sci-fi western)a must see for the die hard western fan.other must see are definetly wild wild west tv western, rifleman,of course not omitting the staples of tv westerns bonanza, and gunsmoke.i rate this definetly an 8 of 10.enjoyHave Gun Will Travel (Season One - Disc One) - NorthLady
When this series started I was only 9 years old. It was in a period of time when our heros were "HEROS" and our men were "MEN". In that time period men were not allowed to be considered "weak" or to "not know" something. We've come a long way! Now-a-days movie characters are more "rounded".
This show was my favourite western series when I was a child. The acting is exceptional with a "star" in almost every episode. Because they don't tell you who the "star" is in the opening credits I enjoyed seeing if I could "recognize" the episode's star. For example Angie Dickinson is VERY YOUNG.
I enjoyed this first disc so much that I purchased the three seasons that were available. I had to purchase it from Amazon.com though.
