Wagner: Der Ring Des Nibelungen

Richard Wagner's entire Ring cycle performed in the Bayreuth Festspielhaus - designed and built by Wagner himself in order to stage Der Ring Des Nibelugnen - in perhaps the finest filmed performance of the work. Wagner's original medieval backdrop is forsaken in favour of a nineteenth century setting, in keeping with GB Shaw's interpretation of the work as commentary upon the politics of modernity.
