Alf: Season 4
The Tanner family is an average American family. One day, they discover that they have a visitor. He's small, he's furry, he's arrogant, and he's an alien from the planet Melmac. Unsure what to do, they name him ALF: Alien Life Form. Alf soon decides that as much as he misses his home planet, there's a lot to be said for Earth: the Tanners are willing to concede anything as long as he doesn't announce his presence. Oh yeah, the the Tanners also have a cat, which looks rather tasty...

Go back to Melmac, Alf...

This is a good example of bad 80s TV. I have no idea why this show lasted for four season. At first, ALF's sarcasm was a great contrast to the sugary-sweet family sitcoms typical of the eighties. However, there is still that phony element here, and the laugh track makes it even more painful. If you want to see puppets, rent a Muppet movie.

I give ALF 4 stars despite the syndication. I simply love this series. I was sad it only ran four seasons. The jokes are timeless and keep you laughing even if you've seen them millions of times. It's a show the whole family can watch and enjoy. The creature (ALF) from Melmac is sure to have you laughing in no time.
Great Shows, Awful DVD Packaging

As with all the ALF episodes, these are really enjoyable to watch and contain good, clean good humor entertainment for the whole family. I wanted to add the breakdown of what's on the disks, because they are noted included on this page and I have never seen anything like this before.
Disk 1 contains the first six episodes ("Baby, Come Back", "Lies", "Wanted: Dead or Alive", "We're in the Money", "Mind Games" and "Hooked on a Feeling"). "Mind Games" was also in the Season 3 DVD set as it was originally produced for Season 3.
Disk 2 contains 8-11 and 13-14 ("The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Live and Let Die", "Break Up to Make Up", "Happy Together", "It's My Party" and "Make 'em Laugh").
Episode 7 ("He Ain't Heavy, He's Willie's Brother") is not part of the DVD set and #12 ("Fever") was in the Season 3 DVD set as it was originally produced for Season 3.
Disc 3 contains Episodes 13-18 ("It's My Party”, “Make 'em Laugh", "Love on the Rocks", "True Colors", "Gimme That Old Time Religion" and "Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades").
Disc 4 contains Episodes 19-24 ("When I'm Sixty-Four", "Mr. Sandman", "Stayin' Alive", "Hungry Like a Wolf", "I Gotta Be Me" and "Consider Me Gone").
Thus, two of the episodes on Disk 3 are identical to the ones on Disk 2 and one episode is not included anywhere in the set! I have never seen this kind of what I think is sloppy work in releasing a DVD set for a TV show. Despite this, the shows from all 4 seasons are well worth renting.
