From the engine roar and fever pitch of professional stock car racing, Days Of Thunder explodes with the most spectacular racing action ever captured on film.
Tom Cruise plays race car driver Cole Trickle, whose talent and ambition are surpassed only by his burning need to win. Discovered by businessman Tim Daland, Cole is teamed with legendary crew chief and car-builder Harry Hogge to race for the Winston cup at the Daytona 500.
A fiery crash nearly ends Cole's career and he must turn to a beautiful doctor to regain his nerve and the true courage needed to race, to win and to live.

Tom Cruise is back and this time at the Daytona 500. Cruise stars as Cole Trickle, a hot shot race car driver trying to win it all. He battles through other drivers and a near fatal crash in pursuit of his goal. Other stars include Robert Duvall, Nicole Kidman, and Robert C. Reiley. There's some solid action here and a great flick to watch with the guys.

This is a decent flick made before Tom Cruise was known to be officially weird. There is some good action, some decent acting (especially from Robert Duvall) and lots of fast cars.
This movie also shows something that was later confirmed in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut: Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman have absolutely no on-screen chemistry at all. It is still amazing to me that they managed to be a couple for so long.
Anyways, this movie is fairly decent. Some plot holes here and there, but still worth a watch for fans of the genre.

This is my favorite racing movie of all time! Even if you don't like Tom Cruise, if you are a fan of NASCAR, you will love this movie just for the behind the scenes aspect of racing it represents. Nicole Kidman is HOT!!!! Robert Duval puts in his best performance since COLORS. This is a must-own movie. From the story-line to the action, it is a top-notch movie from start to finish line! This is a movie that makes you wish that you could be behind the wheel and is good enough to make you feel like you are! Crank up the Surround, turn down the lights, make a bowl of popcorn, sit back and feel like you are in the movie. (Best viewed using a big-screen TV to truly enjoy this movie. Race ON!
