Some lines shouldn't be crossed.

Medical students begin to explore the realm of near death experiences, hoping for insights. Each has their heart stopped and is revived. They begin having flashes of walking nightmares from their childhood, reflecting sins they committed or had committed against them. The experiences continue to intensify, and they begin to be physically beaten by their visions as they try and go deeper into the death experience to find a cure.

this is a perfect movie to get you all scared about what you do in life and how it will haunt you :) It was very interesting with a great script! I was pleasantly surprised!
What got me to touch this movie is that I found out Julia Roberts is in this movie, and I thought I've seen every single one of her movies. Guess I was wrong.

I seriously expected one of them to die on that table - it was a normal thing to expect when these characters are playing with fire. But the lesson in this movie was something else - some things you'll in life will be bad, some mistakes you can fix, others you can't, and you'll just have to learn to live with that.

Wow so many good actors brought together in 1990 for a half way decent film. Its amazing how this bunch has aged in 18 years. Yes its been that long. Dammm. Anyway this group is zapping each other to death for a short period then they bring them back to life, just to see whats on the other side. its Suspenseful, but rates little on the fright meter. But still is worth the watch and gets 3 1/2 stars in my book.

Intense Supernatural Thriller. - cathyottawa

This is the story of 5 medical students, who decide to research near death experiences by actually having them themselves. They medically supervise each other, as they induce death, have the volenteer stay at flatline for a short time, and then revive them.

This is unbeknowst to their teachers of coarse, being totally unethical and illegal. But they have young dreams of discovering great things, and achieving medical acclaim.

Each one of them eventually undergoes the procedure, and each one of them brings something back - a sort of reincarnation of an event in their lives, that won't go away, and demands to be heard. Will they figure out a way to resolve the event, and end the torment?

This is a very creepy movie, with a few good scares. It had a camp-fire ghost story feel for me. I love thrillers with a supernatural element, and that is just what this is.

Full of young, talented actors at the top of their game, including Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, and Kevin Bacon, this movie gets just about everything right.
