Courtney Love stars as Joan Vollmer, the second wife of Beat writer William S. Burroughs (Kiefer Sutherland) in this biography detailing her life with the philandering Burroughs. The time they spent with other Beat writers -- Allen Ginsburg, Jack Kerouac and journalist Lucien Carr is both tragic and brilliant, and lives change before your eyes as Vollmer becomes involved in a bizarre William Tell-type stunt with her husband.
