The Gate
The removal of an old tree in Glen's backyard reveals a large and mysterious hole. Glen and his sister, Al, are left to look after themselves for three days when their parents go away. This is when strange things begin to happen, all of them centered around the "hole".

...that's seriously well done!

I would equate this to a really well told camp fire ghost story. It doesn't rely on big special effects, and, even though the ones is does use aren't great by today's standards, there's still some clever, creepy stuff.
