Effroyables jardins (Strange Gardens)

14-year-old Lucien does not understand why his dad has to act like a clown - literally. His father's friend tells him about the origin of his father's clown antics, as a form of protest and rebellion against the German occupiers in World War II. The vivid stories of friendship and resistance teach Lucien that there is more to his father's clowning than a lack of self respect.
