When the students at a prestigious prep school spread a hoax email about a serial killer, they start a game of terror and deception that has three rules: avoid suspicion, lie to your friends, and eliminate your enemies. But what starts as a joke soon turns deadly and now they find themselves victims of their own game!

Released long after the initial revival of teen slasher flicks (See: Scream); and even longer after rich-teen-thrillers (See: Cruel Intentions, The Skulls), Cry_Wolf cries foul.

The premise itself is not all that bad, in fact it may have been saved were the plot not painfully obvious. The game which inspired the name of the film, and the description of that game reveals too much, too soon.

We've seen similar stories (note: Skulls, Cruel Intentions): Rich new guy meets girl, has one sided love affair, girls screws guy over, our hero becomes a tragic hero. In between there are glimmers of hope but unlike the aforementioned kin, Cry_Wolf lacks any sort of character development. One thing is for sure though: even children of a single parent janitor can afford to go to the same private prep school as dignitaries' kids.

But the plot may still have been saved, and the 'twist' believable had the acting not been so outrageously bad - characters with one expression: highschool kid (see: Teen Slasher Films from the 80s).

Indeed there are entertaining bits, like the statutory rape plot, or the fact that kids somehow have access to firearms at a private school, or the complete lack of police involvement, let's not forget about the weekend, when apparently kids at boarding schools vacate these boarding schools...

I don't really know what else to say about this movie. It's bad, but if you like bad horror/predictable thrillers - see it.

It was a very good movie.
The ending really surprised me. I wasnt expexting it at all.It wasnt scary at all. It is more a teen movie than an adult movie but its still pretty good for an adult. Its your typical teen movie where there is some seduction happening in it. But overall its a good rent.

A good teen thriller! - Marybou

"Cry wolf" is a good teen thriller. It's not really an horror movie because I don't find it really scary, just a little bit. But it's okay for the sensitive heart like mine.

But I have to say that I liked the story and the end surprise me.

It's a good little movie!
