Ram Aur Shyam

Two men of identical appearance are mistaken for each other by their respective families.


Abused by an oppressive brother-in-law Gajendra (Pran), Ram (Dilip Kumar) runs away from home, and ends up in a small village. There, he is mistaken for Shyam (also Dilip Kumar), to whom he bears an eerie resemblance. Meanwhile, Shyam, away from his home, is mistaken for Ram, by Ram’s family. When Gajendra tries to beat up his brother-in-law, Shyam refuses to be abused or beaten, and all of a sudden things start changing in the household as well as in the community. It is not long before Gajendra finds out the truth.
