Pitka (Mike Myers) is an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife.

After the split, Roanoke's wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid— to the horror of the teams' owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old "Bullard Curse" and win the Stanley Cup.

Unfairly Panned - KevinJaques

It was much like Austin Powers, except it much reduced the repetitious grabs at catch–phrases. There was just as much juvenile male humour. In fact, it was saturated with it, corny, unexpected, fun.

The Mike Myers part was better than Austin Powers, but I suppose the movie as a whole didn’t have the strong supporting characters which the Austin Powers series had. Jessica Alba was lovely and sweet but unbelievable. The actor who played Mini-Me got to talk in this one.

I think the strong Canadian hockey element is what put the American critics off. Do they even know why Jacques Le Coq kept saying "Tabber-Knack?" It's Quebecois profanity, meaning "Tabernacle!"

I will admit to disappointment that Mike only played one character. It’s like we got Austin, but no Dr. Evil!

There that’s the funniest joke in the whole movie. You can thank my later for saving you from wasting 86 minutes of your life on such a vacuous and soulless film but I guess you can’t be surprised since it was written by a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. This movie took $65 million to make and has only made $40 million to date and there’s no mystery why – it’s as cutting edge and clever as a sunday school knock-knock joke. A few more crap jokes would actually improve on the comedic prospects of this disaster. So in conclusion: DO NOT WATCH THIS CRAPTACULAR MOIVIE! Repeat. DO NOT WATCH THIS CRAPTACULAR MOIVIE!

Very disappointing film from a gifted comedian. I admit to laughing out loud a few times, granted some were "at" the film not "with" the film. Juvenile toilet humour should be beyond Myers at this stage of his career, but I guess I'm wrong. It's already stuck with a niche audience with the Leafs story line, take that down to 11-15 year-old boys and you get the gist of it.

JT has some funny lines, kind of his "dick in a box" vein. Romany Malco (from Weeds) looks out of place as he tries to be the straight man for Myers. The rest of the cast is forgettable, thank goodness.
