How can a 10 go for a 5?

Kirk (Jay Baruchel), an average Joe, can't believe his luck. Though he's stuck in a seemingly dead-end job as an airport security agent, against all odds, Molly (Alice Eve), a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, falls for him. Kirk is stunned. So are his friends, his family and even his ex-girlfriend. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though he'd be the first to admit she's out of his league.

Funny But Plagued With Mixed Messages - c4th

SPOILER ALERT! (third paragraph)***

I can understand how many can be entertained by this movie and I am not surprised by the large number of positive reviews. I am greatly surprised however at the lack of negative reviews on a movie that doesn`t even believe in its own message.

First let me say that the basic premise of the movie clearly substantiates the message it will eventually offer and the story disappointingly fails to deliver much beyond. However it tries valiantly and I must give it credit for a few moments of shtick humour provided along the way. Why, though, after taking the effort to make its point, does its most climactic scene totally and blatantly violate its own precautionary message?

After establishing that we are all tens in our own right, the hero of our story shallowly berates his ex-girlfriend along with her numerous groupies and friends headed for an adventure in Branson Missouri. To say his speech was a tad hypocritical is a huge understatement even to those buying into the movie’s persistent but unconvincing suggestion that the ex is some sort of evil scum bag for dumping him.

Many people enjoyed this movie. It is worthy of consideration for some entertaining and quirky off colour humour. Its serious elements on the other hand, are plagued by mixed messages.

Hidden Gem! - KACD

Did not expect much, but this was the funniest movie we have seen in a good year! Great sense of humour, storyline was fun, and characters were exceptional! Loved the cast - very well written!
Great romantic comedy - but plenty of funny stuff for the guys! One of the few romantic comedies where both my husband and I were laughing out loud!

Surprisingly funny - HFoDogLuver

I expected this to be pretty lame, but it's full of great one-liners and shockingly funny moments. I definitely burst out laughing pretty hard enough times that we had to stop it and rewind it because we missed a few lines. It's disgusting in many aspects, but in a funny way. Great to watch when you have a raunchy sense of humour.
