Based on the memoir by New York Times best-selling author Jon Katz, Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart) delivers an Emmy-nominated performance as a writer at a mid-life crossroads who agrees to adopt and train a high-strung border collie named Devon, only to discover it's he himself who has the lessons to learn. After a reality-check visit from his daughter (Lauren Ambrose, Six Feet Under) and still unable to break through with the dog, he moves to a farmhouse where he's introduced to a dog whisperer (Lois Smith, True Blood) whose tough love approach sets Jon and Devon on a path to greater trust and understanding - but will it be enough to turn both their lives around?
