Great Action Film! - DaxKP
I loved this movie! I mean, can you really go wrong with all those abs? :) But besides that, this film was visually stunning. Even if you don't pay attention to the story at all, it is still a feast for the eyes. Some scenes were just amazing to watch. Great action too, and a great story. Overall, a fun film, well worth renting!It's an injection of pure testosterone - Amaritudo
No one is likely to argue that 300 has much artistic merit to it except visually. The graphic novel look as well as the very specific color scheme is an interesting way to adapt the book to the screen.
But let's be honest. This is a male fantasy movie and it does it well. It's not about the history nor is it about the story. It's about the muscles, the violence, the battle-induced rage, and the basic need to kick some ass.

If you want a movie with a mindless plot, but some cool graphics, and lame acting, then this one is alright.
It may be loosely, verrryy loosely based on some historical facts, but Xerxes was not an eight foot tall egyptian-like half-God. Anyway, the CGI was cool, though it progresses so fast that even now newer movies are much more impressive than this one (and some actually have a better plot! not that that's hard to do).
Sorry 300- it may be worth seeing, but it was no where near as good as i had originally expected...and i wasn't expecting a masterpiece.
