Realistic and Thrilling Adventure - c4th
James Cameron (executive producer), Andrew Wright (writer and producer), John Garvin (writer) and Alister Grierson (director) introduce viewers to a whole new world. Welcome to the environment of underwater cave systems.
Sanctum is a tale of human survival and triumph which follows the story of a group of adventurers trapped in a huge cave system when a freak rainstorm floods the entrance. The divers must venture into uncharted caverns and passage ways searching for a route to the sea. They face tough life and death decisions involving physical endurance, sacrifice and human tragedy. This fictional embellishment of a true event requires no fantastic creatures of the deep or supernatural elements to maintain its suspense. It is a realistic story filled with intensity, adventure and thrills played out in a setting unfamiliar to most.
Discover the wonder of cave exploration by entering the environment cleverly recreated by the production team and observing the authentic techniques and procedures followed by adventurers of the deep that explore this natural frontier. If you enjoy the movie, you will probably find the accompanying bonus materials informative and entertaining as well.Expecting more - thisjustin
For some reason I was expecting aliens or monsters of some sort to start creeping out of the caves, but that never happened (not that it wouldnt have made it any cheesier).
Instead it just continued to drag on until the odd startling moment.
Overall a cave flick that didn`t really go anywhere.Thrilling, But Not Thrilled - 0930tracey
Another reviewer took the words out of my mouth. I felt like I was on a ride at an amusement park.
I wasn't overly impressed by this "James Cameron Produced" movie. Yes, it was dark, wet and claustrophobic, but that's all it was.
It did grab me with the Based on True Events nonsense, however, that was the only cool thing about Sanctum for me.
