Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a revolution... an action-packed epic featuring stunning visual effects and creatures unlike anything ever seen before. At the story's heart is Caesar (Andy Serkis), a chimpanzee who gains human-like intelligence and emotions from an experimental drug. Raised like a child by the drug's creator (James Franco), Caesar ultimately finds himself taken from the humans he loves and imprisoned. Seeking justice, Caesar assembles a simian army and escapes - putting man and primate on a collision course that could change the planet forever.

Good Movie - MFisher
I thought that this was quite a good movie. I really liked how the whole idea of animal cruelty was being brought to light considering that the US still currently tests on primates. In this instance I was cheering for the apes. The action was pretty good in this movie and I did like the plot with James Franco and his father, it really showed what was driving him!Rise of the Planet of the Apes - djfunkybob
This prequel to the classic franchise finally explains how the apes took over. I was expecting there to be more action, but I was alright with what I would characterize as a big budget drama about fathers and sons, accepting change, and most importantly, animal cruelty. The CGI was truly state-of-the-art and convinced me that this movie could not have been made 10 years ago. There are some talented actors starring, but the real star is chimpanzee, Caesar. I had two minor problems with the film: Does San Francisco have such an ape problem that such a large, extravagant primate shelter is needed? And, the post-credit ending disappointed as it may have signaled there wouldn’t be the sequel I had hoped for.Andy Serkis is brilliant! - Mano
Nice movie. I coughed up a bit more to get the Blu Ray and it was well worth it.
Brilliant acting by Serkis who acts as Caesar. John Lithgow is terrific too. Franco and Pinto play the pair and they are okay.
Special effects are fantastic. I wish I had seen this movie in theate. But then I wouldn't have had the chance to see the extras which really tell the story behind the movie making.
Photography, music, casting are all top noych. No wonder it made good dough in the box office. Good for them.
Don't miss this even though the original version was also superb.
