Real Steel
Courage is stronger than steel.
A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech.
Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) is a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next.
When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

This movie is a not bas movie for a film night that you don't want to ask yourself to many question. It's an action pack movie with a pretty surprising end. I'm pretty sure there will be a real steel 2.
C'est un film corresct pour une soiree ou vous ne voulez pas vous creser la tete. Plein d'action et peu de texte...surprisingly good action movie - lookingjust
Such a silly premise - boxing robots boxing! Also pretty formulaic story; the ex-boxer who hits near bottom but fights his way back in the end - with a cute kid to boot and an improbably gorgeous boxing
'gym' manager who is "waiting" for him. It should be too sappy and formulaic to survive, but to my great surprise, it works pretty well. Most credit goes to Hugh Jackman, who is great in the lead role. Evangeline Lilly gives a surprisingly creditable performance as well, and of course the kid is just adorable, but not quite too too adorable. The robots are good too - good special effects and generally good boxing action sequences. All in all a much better movie than I was expecting. I gave it 4 stars here (probably really 3.5 if we could give half stars) - well worth an evenings rental.Great Film for Everyone! - 0930tracey
I rented this movie for my son and I to watch, figuring I would do a crossword and pretend to watch, however...I really really liked this movie!
At just over 2 hours, I thought he would be distracted (he's 7) but we both sat riveted until the very end. It had heart, comedy and a great concept. I 100% recommend Real Steel
