Farewell Cracker - movie_goer
So the first 2 seasons were groundbreaking, mind blowing and fully loaded crime stories that kept you on edge.
Sadly, the momentum and stamina that kept the show alive evaporated and deplowed when Fitz's personal life went up in divorce and his children resented him. His career also toke a nose dive, and well if there's 1 pet peeve that audience dispeize is failure in their beloved characters. Or a downfall in a shows storyline. Both happened, making season 3 forgettable and sad to say farwell.Cracking Good Fun - LOPI
Heroes do not come any more flawed than Robbie Coltrane's Fitz, a larger than life forensic psychologist. Fitz is insufferable: an alcoholic, gambling addicted, adulterous chain smoker who also has the arrogance that comes with always being right. He specializes in getting into the minds of the suspects, who inevitably "crack" because they can't stand him in there. That some find it difficult to like the character was demonstrated by the pathetic U.S. remake starring Robert Pastorelli as a more likeable "Fitz light". It didn't, and couldn't work, as there can only be one Fitz: the really bad one.Cracker - Rico1
Third in a series of three DVD releases of the popular PBS Mystery series.(Coltrane's)is outstanding as Fitz a criminal psychologist, who battles his own personal problems while trying to solve cases of murder. This series ended prematurely.Cracker first hit british screens on ITV back in 1993, the brainchild of Granada Television and Jimmy McGovern.
