This is the first television series I've ever watched that I wanted to buy on DVD so I would own it and could watch and re-watch. Fantastic writing, direction, acting... The storyline has so many twists and turns and layers that you can watch it several times and still find something new. The characters are multi-dimensional and each episode is so suspenseful it leaves you wanting more. Watch it with a friend or family member because you'll inevitably want to discuss and disect each show!Great Characters and Stories - newdaysof
Lost is an excellent TV series with great actors, interesting characters with fully-developed back-stories, lots of mystery, intrigue, suspense, a beautiful location and lots of action. Once you watch a couple of episodes, you really start caring about the characters and can't stop watching.
Having said all of that, the series can be frustrating at times because nothing ever gets resolved and you are kept hanging on until the next episode - and in the next episode there are more twists and turns and surprises which bring up more intrigue and more unresolved questions and you are left hanging onto until the next episode. After awhile, you start feeling manipulated as a viewer - but because you care about the characters so much, you have no choice but to continue.
My other complaint is with the Hugo character. Seems half his lines are "Awesome" or "Dude". It quickly grows old and stale and stupid and the character becomes meaningless. I am so sick of the word "awesome" and the people who use it. It's a no-brain way of talking. Doesn't take any thought to blurt out the word "awesome" every two sentences.
I also find that there are just too many characters and the back-stories are too detailed and too involved and don't always relate to the main story. I wish they had just focused more on the characters in the present with their day to day struggles to survive on the island, getting food/water/shelter. And also there is just way too much gun violence. Too many people pointing too many guns at each other. And of course, too many "unnecessary cocks".
But those complaints aside, it is still one of the best TV series in the past decade and a refreshing change from the endless reality TV shows and talent shows.Great puzzle - Poet
Watching Lost is an experience it itself. I just can't get enough of it. Great characters, awesome plot and wonderful storytelling. A recipe for success.
In season 4, we go deeper into the world of Lost. The pieces of this great puzzle start to come in place, but we still don't know what is gonna happen.
Can't wait for Season 5 and then the final one.
