Annie Hall
"A nervous romance."
Romantic adventures of neurotic New York comedian Alvy Singer and his equally neurotic girlfriend Annie Hall. The film traces the course of their relationship from their first meeting, and serves as an interesting historical document about love in the 1970s.

Cute film but not the masterpiece I expected - slroc
Annie Hall is a cute and witty film. It is very well written in terms of the humor and the back and forth banter but to be honest I found the plot a bit thin....basically lots of ups and downs in a somewhat thin relationship which focused mainly on how often they had sex.Annie Hall - djfunkybob
Allen’s script is a masterpiece in the romantic comedy genre and it is his best film – it is not surprising he has been trying to duplicate the magic for 35 years. Keaton’s performance as Annie Hall is as memorable as any female character in cinema. Their combination of neurosis and laissez-faire create an unexpected spark. They are destined to be doomed, but you desperately want them to succeed. Allen has never been this funny with his off-the-cuff comments, stand-up bits, turns to the camera (e.g., Marshall McLuhan scene), first-date subtitles, etc. However, his neurotic over-analytic character (or what I like to refer to as him “Being Woody”) does start to wear on you.Unlikeable character, funny dialogues - SAllende
Annie Hall is a typical - and one of the better -Woody Allen movie, which means that you there shouldn't be any surprises about whether you were like this film or not if you watched at least one other Woody Allen film.
If you have never seen a Woody Allen film, then know that this movie centres around a constantly sarcastic comedian (Alvy) who is incapable of enjoying life and his relationship with Annie - a love of his life.
Alvy is not entirely sympathetic character. He spends the entire movie whining, complaining, and making snarky comments. So if you think that this will put you off this movie, then it probably will do so.
Having said that the main (male) character is not entirely likeable, this movie does have some wonderfully funny one-liners and exchanges, such as this gem:
ALVY'S FATHER: You fired the cleaning woman?
ALVY'S MOTHER: She was stealing.
ALVY'S FATHER: But she's colored.
ALVY'S MOTHER: So?
ALVY'S FATHER: So the colored have enough trouble.
ALVY'S MOTHER: She was going through my pocketbook!
ALVY'S FATHER: They're persecuted enough!
ALVY'S MOTHER: Who's persecuting? She stole!
