After 35 Years In A Bomb Shelter, Adam Webber Is Finally Going Outside To Play.
Meet Adam Webber, born and raised in a bomb shelter with his mad scientist father and his sherry swilling mother. Adam's simple childhood has been filled with Perry Como records, The Honeymooners re-runs and good old-fashioned family values. Now 35 years later, Adam is about to emerge into a bewildering modern word in search of supplies and a simple girl from Pasadena. Instead, Adam meets Eve a modern LA woman, jaded about life and burned by love.

12 years later, this movie lives up to its title - we were surprised to see a young Brendan Fraser starring as Adam Webber, who grows up in a fallout shelter. The movie also stars Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek, Dave Foley and Alicia Silverstone. There's a cameo by Nathan Fillon as well.
I gave it five stars because we enjoyed it so much. This "what if" story is suitable for a family, although it has a couple of swears. Brendan plays the sweet, earnest and naive Adam perfectly. There was good cast chemistry and the detail to the sets were great.Light hearted funny and sweet - thenewguy
Fraser plays a young man named Adam whose parents thought the USA was under nuclear attack in 1962. they've hidden away in a fall-out shelter for 35 years and Adam has never been in contact with the outside world. As a result, Adam knows nothing of modern customs, attitudes or lying.
On Adam's first trip to the surface to find supplies, he meets Eve and enlists her help in finding his way around modern LA.
The movie is light hearted and does a wonderful job of presenting Adam's culture shock in a humour light. Both the main stars (Fraser and Silverstone) do a great job. Dave Foley is a great side act who does an excellent job of supporting our time-crossed lovers.
The movie doesn't take itself very seriously, which may be its best strength or only weakness, depending on how you approach it. Where it could be more emotionally serious, it tends to shy away and crack a joke, which keeps the movie moving, but avoids any negative side-effects of Adam's isolation. It's an absolute BLAST! - Zollman
Simply put, it's one of those movies that you just don't want to end. It's so much fun, that there is a sadness once the credits role. Fraser's character Adam Webber is laughable and lovable. Alicia Silverstone is believable as his friend and love interest. Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek always give great performances. Wonderful story, fabulous unforgettable characters and a great ending make this one worth watching over and over again.
